This is an interesting arneis from Sassy Wines in Orange. The variety is at home in Piemonte in north western Italy where it produces low acid wines to be drunk in their youth, or historically, was blended to soften nebbiolo. Amazingly, for a relatively obscure variety, there's 153 hectares of arneis planted in Australia according to James Halliday (see J Halliday, Varietal Wines (2015, Hardie Grant, p111)). This is a good example of one. Stone, green mango and lemon aromatics give way to a palate with pleasant fennel, green cashew and citrus characters.
